This dark, unadorned steel box is the media lab of Bard College.
The original intention of the construction is to meet the urgent needs of the college's classroom space,
while providing flexible space for various projects and events.
It is welded by four pre customized containers.
The field assembly is very fast, and it can be built in half a day.
Located in the mud beside the road,
the construction of the container building has little requirement on the environment.
The doors at both ends of the container are replaced
by glass windows to enhance the illumination of indoor light.
A 180 degree revolving glass garage door is set in the middle and rear
of the building as the largest entrance directly to the main room.
There are many discussion tables and chairs by the door.
You can see that the interior walls have increased plywood.
When you stay indoors, you can't feel that it's a container building.
At the same time, it can reduce the impact of environmental weather on the building.
The indoor environment is bright, four containers are opened inside,
forming a laboratory with abundant space.
Up the stairs leads to another small area to meet the environmental
requirements different from the open area downstairs.
