Stables, which are the places where horses are kept in captivity,
are often kept separately for the convenience of management.
Therefore, the structure of stables is generally composed of several small spaces side by side.
Such a structure can raise horses, but can it also accommodate people? Roth Sheppard,
an American architect, opened up the brain cavity and put it into practice.
This is an industrial building in Denver called "tradecraft industries" joint office space.
This seemingly huge "warehouse" has 1800 square meters of industrial space,
20 private offices and more than 200 flexible collaborative space,
which is suitable for small and emerging construction companies and design companies.
The goal of the project is to create a collaborative environment that
provides a place for contractors and designers to develop and support each other.
Conceptually, tradecraft industries is designed around a multi-purpose concept.
Cost and labor efficiency are achieved by selecting multi-purpose building components and materials,
while providing flexible and simplified structures.
Each container unit is like a small stall space in each cell,
side by side around the edge of a large "warehouse.".
The structural design of the yard is divided into two layers
to maximize the building material utility of the container.
It can not only provide a separate interior space,
but also provide a naturally formed terrace on the top.
The office space has three entrances and exits,
and a strip window above the warehouse is
reserved to provide vision and light transmission.
When entering the joint office space, polycarbonate panels are directly
connected to the columns of the internal walls of the warehouse,
so that light can be filtered into the space through the panels.
OSB sheet is used as an economical, maintenance free and durable finish material,
which can form a dust removal wall in an office.
The central framing element separates the "stables" from the public open space, a
nd by keeping all building systems in a central core,
it can significantly increase cost-effectiveness and simplify the supply of the remaining buildings.
