In order to meet the needs of special groups of people, in front of the train station in Tokyo,

There is a small smoking area consisting of two transport containers,

In order to reduce the harm of second-hand smoke in public places, isolated smoking areas were built.

The construction site of the project is the station platform,

 which is located in the space between the escalators and elevators leading to the station and the sentry box.
In this limited area, [Urban Design Office] has placed two 20 foot long containers here,
One is placed horizontally and the other is placed vertically to form a smoking box in Tokyo.

About half of the horizontally placed containers are the external space reconstructed

by the dismantled tank wall, which can be connected with the surrounding area.
The vertically placed container has a ceiling space of 5 meters high, and smoke

 is discharged from the upper part of the container through the rising air flow,
This reduces the cost of the air cleaner machine.

Two vessels arranged in a diagonal line can reduce the pressure on the surrounding environment,

The large windows on the box connect the daily landscape inside and outside,

The smokers are placed in the scenery around the station, and the natural light and

 wind can be ensured to enter the building, so as to improve the circulation.

On the outer wall of the diagonal layout of the smoking box,

some plants with "fragrance" were planted,

For example, Osmanthus fragrans, peppermint, balsamic wood and Brazil

sage hope to reverse the unpleasant image of the "Stinky" smoking area.

The container smoking area is designed to create a comfortable place for smokers and non-smokers,

The use of metal buildings can achieve rapid completion and reduce the impact on

 the surrounding environment, while meeting the needs of small and special areas,

It's like a "mini Park" in a city.
