[bar k] is a facility for pets and pet lovers, located in Berkley Riverfront Park,
This is a piece of land along the Missouri River that is undergoing a revival
of residential development【 Bar-k] is the latest destination for Kansas City residents and their pets.
The [bar-k] project covers an area of 7625 square feet, equivalent to
about 708 square meters, using the "discovery" space under the "heart of America" bridge,
By providing the ultimate backyard experience, it injects new life into the abandoned land.
The vast park has restaurants, bars, cafes, beer gardens,
live entertainment performances, roof terraces and 2 acres of dog gardens.
Referring to the industrial nature of the surrounding site (bordered by roads,
rivers and railways), the project consists of an industrial component - container.
By creatively stacking 14 recyclable high cubic containers, its original industrial
appearance is balanced with a friendly and interesting indoor experience.
The main building is completely composed of modified Marine Containers,
which are decorated with warm orange and blue.
The stacked containers create a unique double-layer
high food hall with sufficient natural lighting and beer garden,
The container lounge on the second floor is connected to the open-air roof platform
to enjoy the surrounding dog park and the beautiful skyline in the distance.
The indoor part of the park is for human use only. It includes a complete bar and restaurant,
Designed by co-founder Ryan Maybee,
About twenty kinds of beer and cocktails are available. In addition,
the space also has conference space and private activity space for rent.
The goal of the project is to create a safe haven or "joyous experience" for people and their pets,
To help dogs socialize and help them find a home.
The interior of the building transformed from container is completely opened,
A spacious indoor activity space is formed, and the design
of floor glass window makes the vision more open.
