In response to the increasingly branded
and commercialized "advanced art",
the Swiss studio Bureau A designed and
built a large-scale art installation ‘BIG’,
which resembles Stonehenge and was exhibited
at the Independent Art Space Biennale in Geneva.
The Geneva Biennale aims to revive the anti-mainstream
culture and art and is open to the public free of charge.
"BIG" is composed of 48 blue containers stacked to re-display the Neolithic
round meeting space in which various social events can be held,
such as concerts, fairs and art performances.
、
Each open container can be used as a retail space or as a warehouse,
exhibition area or seating area, etc., to support the general activities of the venue.
The project disseminates art and culture in contemporary society,
uses ancient stone formations and promotes the exchange of ideas.
Using off-the-shelf energy-saving materials and historically well-known arrangements,
the steel structure traces the lifestyle to the community model,
and its main function determines its aesthetics.
