To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the luminato Art Festival in Toronto,

the organizers set up the venue at the hern power plant,

which has been abandoned for more than 30 years, with the aim of providing an open,

inclusive and multi structural venue.

With the cooperation of luminato art team and local design architects,

they have successfully transformed the abandoned power plant

into the world's largest temporary Modern Art Center,

which can meet the needs of visitors from the perspective of vision, hearing and taste.

At first glance, under the huge roof is the rusty steel structure and old concrete,

which constitute a spacious space. The strong industrial

wind brings a huge impact and novel attraction.

When you enter the power plant, you will see the box office transformed by containers.

The colorful containers are built on the top and side of the concrete building,

perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment.

Under the white spotlight, it is more dazzling.

Deep into the center of the venue, you can see two major performing venues:

hern theatre, which can accommodate 1200 audiences,

and a music stage with 2000 seats and 5000 stations.

These two sites were built by container renovation.

Thanks to the structure of the original building of Hearn power plant (more than 140 feet of roof),

they can install stage scenery, sound, lighting and dimmer equipment.

The large-scale design of the site is shocking and conforms to the designer's

idea of using the former industrial land for innovation and reuse.

In the middle of the theater is an industrial wind stage built by steel structure and concrete buildings.

Facing the stage is the ordinary audience area. Around the ordinary area and the stage,

it is a multi-layer container VIP area transformed from containers.

The facade of the container is cut to form a large window.

The audience inside can enjoy the wonderful performance of the stage through the window.

There is a huge container hanging at the top of the music stage,

with stacked containers on both sides. The background of the stage is made up of containers,

and the huge white curtain is hanging on the container. The scene is very spectacular.

In the middle of the stage is a large dance floor where the audience can

enjoy the music performance and dance as much as possible.

In addition, some of the corners of the site also put some containers and other materials of decoration,

novel and unique, full of design sense, well integrated with the site.
