Copenhagen photo Festival is the largest photography festival in northern Europe, with more than 50 exhibitions held in cooperation with art museums, museums and cultural institutions in Copenhagen and southern Sweden. Every year, 250 Danish and foreign photographers participate in the festival, and more than 55000 people visit it.
As the most current trend of activities, Copenhagen Photography Festival focuses on the direction of development. New exhibition forms, new photography usage, new perspectives, new talents and new exhibition buildings are adopted. Thanks to the unique geographical advantages of the wharf, some of the works of the exhibition are displayed in galleries built by containers, which can be expanded or reduced at any time.
During the 11 day photography activity, the photography works will be carried out under the three main themes of frame identity, frame society and frame vision through exhibitions, seminars, lectures and portfolio reviews. The container modular structure is just in line with the theme. This challenge to the traditional way of display, is looking for new and innovative ways to show the artist's vision.
In addition to being enlarged and displayed on the wall of the container, all the photography works are also displayed on the grassland around the container with an independent exhibition stand, providing a wide field of vision and free activity space, which can cope with the huge flow of people during the festival.
The festival gives priority to experiments and sustainability in production, and the container module just meets this demand. At the same time, the interior of the container is also equipped with an indoor exhibition gallery, without special decoration, only maintaining the original appearance and inner wall of the container. The floor is dry laid with wooden boards, and spotlights are installed to provide light source.
