This is a 4,000-square-meter mixed shipping container house in Dunnellon,
Florida, built on 2 acres of land and built from a total of 7 shipping containers.
The house belonged to a young couple who wanted to build their dream house
at an affordable cost, the project was designed by their father, architect Guil Bombonato.
The home is constructed from seven 9x8x40ft shipping containers,
which are mounted on a concrete slab foundation and create 4000sqm of livable space over two floors.
The interior is divided by wooden frames, the infill areas of the ground floor containers
are equipped with full-height glazing, and the top floor of the house is covered with a triangular steel roof.
The duplex structure creates an open living environment.
The container house is covered with plasterboard like a normal house,
and to improve the house's thermal performance, the container walls are insulated with spray foam.
The new steel roofs are all insulated with foam spray for thermal comfort.
