The goal of the design was to create a place for communal gatherings,

linking the various parts of the house with a simple flow,

with a living room and kitchen at its center; at the same time,

leaving enough space for the children to be active and think independently.

In the existing situation, most houses will directly use the container as living space,

but this project does not follow this idea, but decides to treat the container as a work of art,

and treat the container as an object that is suddenly discovered placed in the garden.

Architects PMDA designed a simple rectangular space on the west side of the house,

 creating an informal entry courtyard.

The new addition features a garage on the street side and a large multipurpose space that descends with the terrain.

The interior space of the house is divided by different terrain drops. In order to improve the privacy of the space,

the project innovatively welded three container doors together and placed them on a 30-foot-long sliding rail,

creating a separation between the two. door to space.

A grey container unit is placed in the activity space for children. After cutting and dismantling,

the module becomes a relatively independent and thinking space. Thanks to this design, the various parts of the house,

the living room and the kitchen in the center are connected with a simple flow,

becoming a place for communal gatherings.

Currently, the Wyss family has moved in,

and shipping containers are both a backdrop and a necessity – huge sliding doors to divide the living space in two when sound or social distancing is required,

indoor containers to accommodate a small bathroom and The porch for everyday use can be evacuated from the home at any time when not needed.
