Container Home | The perfect example of extending an old building! Old and new merge in a gabled roof

How to create a connection between the modern shipping container house and the existing cabin was something the couple needed to consider when remodeling the old home.

In making this remodel, neither wanted to spoil the character of the cottage, which was built in the late 1700s.

For this, Rina-Marie came up with an idea: instead of building a new house to fit the cottage and make it look Older,

such a design would also better retain the appeal of an existing home.

The construction of container houses is generally not limited by the number, these unique houses are sometimes built with one container,

sometimes with 10 containers, the main consideration is the need for space size.

Since the splicing of container modules needs to consider the preservation of the container walls,

it is also necessary to customize the container walls according to the house layout during construction.

When building a new container building, the most important feature of the house is its roof, which is a gabled roof like the old building.

So when we look at the house, the roof attracts more attention than the container.

The container building is designed with large expanses of glazing, so that the front of the house is almost transparent,

bringing plenty of natural light and scenery into the interior.

The design concept of the project is to connect the new building made of shipping containers to the back of the old house,

and to maintain the old and new buildings on the same level using a steel structure, and the two buildings are connected by a panoramic glass corridor.

The interior design of the new container building preserves the transition with the old house to ensure the integrity of the house is like going from the past to the future.

Such a design has continuity, rather than simply expanding or renovating an old house.

The new container building contains a living room, kitchen, bedroom and spacious bathroom, which can independently meet all living needs.

The interior decoration is very simple and elegant, unlike the dark exterior exterior, the interior of the house is all white.

At the same time, the white background in the house also forms a harmonious and perfect landscape with the wood design,

and the panoramic glass windows can be seen everywhere in the house to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
