In modular buildings, we often create different structures
and combine different building materials to reduce housing costs
and increase the variety of living experiences.
Just like this sea view container house in Playa Hermosa,
the two containers are left empty and filled with different building materials.
Originally from Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica,
this home is a short walk from the beautiful Playa Hermosa beach near Jaco Beach
and offers couples or small families everything a holiday home would need,
including a spacious living room, Bedroom and bathroom etc.
The structure of the house is very simple,
consisting of a living room built with a wooden shed sandwiched
between two bedrooms made of shipping containers.
In fact, it cannot be said that the living room is completely a wooden shed,
because it also has concrete pouring for the ceiling,
floor-to-ceiling glass windows to fill the walls, etc.
In it, the roof is "lifted up" by a slight slope,
creating a row of skylights that provide ample daylight.
The house has a built-up area of 75 square meters,
and the two bedrooms are set in two shipping containers.
The bedroom door opens from the interior,
and the room has a matching bathroom and a small terrace.
The exposed box wall design allows you to
fully immerse yourself in the industrial style of the container.
The design of the bed is very indigenous,
adding a lot of ethnic elements to the environment.
And the bathroom that "curled up"
at the end is also completely shrouded in the container.
The other bedroom is similarly decorated,
with a stylish bedside fabric painting
and a small terrace with panoramic glass windows.
In this private setting, you can enjoy the view of the mountains,
and if the sun is too harsh, you can draw the curtains,
and you can still enjoy the light from the small strip windows in the box wall.
