One of the main advantages of building container houses is
that they can be built in different places and transported to remote areas,
especially suitable for high wind areas and difficult construction sites.
Delia and Brent, a couple from New Zealand,
provide a good example of how to use containers to create a beautiful
and comfortable house in some real wild landscapes.
Located at the southernmost tip of the North Island of New Zealand,
the house was transported to an amazing peak position,
overlooking the sea in the distance and the mountains of the South Island.
The remote location of the house means that there are certain choices in life.
Therefore, this is an off grid transportation container house.
The solar system provides power, and is equipped with
sufficient photovoltaic cells and lithium-ion batteries.
There is also a large water tank to supply water to the house,
and a composting toilet is used to reduce water consumption.
The house is built from a 40 foot high shipping container,
plus a 10 foot high shipping container to create a bedroom area.
The house is full of exquisite and smart design: in order to
protect the house from various factors in the storm or fire,
and increase the transportability of the house,
the architect designed shutters that can be closed when necessary.
For homeowners, the purpose of building this house
is to create an epic retirement lifestyle.
