Container house | reuse and transform, from waste materials to single storey open house!

Those containers originally used to transport goods on ships

have now become a new form of living,

which makes many rapid projects seeking low environmental impact find the best solution.

We can see that the application of metal structure extends from

the temporary workshop to the whole residential building.

These containers provide a very practical and effective construction system.

The container room is from PR Quatro Barras, Brazil.

It has created a fascinating container space of 3326 square feet

(equivalent to about 309 square meters) and is jointly constructed by six containers.

The building project developed by

leal Ribas engenharia e arquitetura uses recycled containers,

which are reused and transformed into single storey open plan residential buildings.

Among them, the natural wooden deck built in front of the house

is not only a part of the volume of the house,

but also can make the interaction between the indoor

and external areas greater and provide natural warmth for the space.

The six containers are all 40 feet in size,

and the metal cooling can hardly be detected in the house after decoration.

This house is built in an area of 308.83 square meters,

located in the metropolitan area of Curitiba.

It is a ` ` chacara '' style apartment, which shows

a new lifestyle combining innovation, aesthetics and functionality.

Because the container is made of a material with strong thermal conductivity,

if there is no thermal insulation coating,

the space will be too hot or too cold for living.

Therefore, the use of high-density polystyrene foam

and dry wall as the inner wall covering layer

can solve the problems of internal temperature and acoustic comfort.

The ceiling is also made of the same material and has a gypsum lining.

In order to combine this solution with a more efficient system,

the split type bedroom also uses an air conditioner.

Houses built or assembled with containers can save resources such as sand, bricks, cement,

water and iron, which means that the work will be cleaner

and the generation of rubble and other wastes will be reduced.

The project can be built quickly, and its structure

will not have a significant impact during the implementation.

Meanwhile, it can respect the original form of natural terrain

and provide a spacious, multi-functional and integrated space.
