The project is named Bikelab and is located on the university campus of Winnipeg.

It is a community-centered container bicycle pavilion.

The two misplaced 20-foot containers are combined into a warm bicycle rest pavilion.

Through the large area of glass windows,

you can see the warm recycled wood interior inside.

The project brings a poetic and innovative design to modern transportation.

The container building is prefabricated and bolted together after being delivered to the site,

sitting on the foundation of a concrete block. It can be easily dismantled,

then placed in a truck and relocated to another site.

This versatility will greatly extend the life cycle of the building,

allowing it to adapt to changing conditions.

The increasing importance of environmental sustainability in building

design has led architects to explore unused containers as

the main resource for building materials.

With the prevalence of prefabrication and modular construction,

recycling waste containers can be a sustainable design strategy and a component

of effective cost reduction for solving the shortage of labor,

waste of manufacturing time and materials.
