The old Porta Roman railway station in Milan (Lodi TTB metro station) has been given new life.
From June to November this year, The Tank built by BOX4IT will operate next to this subway station.
This is an innovative ecological design and extends the area of the project to 5000 square meters.
The Tank consists of two floors. A series of paths of different sizes
cut and organize the constituent units, which are used to arrange 21 specialty
shops and 12 bars to form a commercial market with a strong industrial sense.
The rest area along the walking path provides space for
pedestrians to rest and also helps increase its social functions.
The open perimeter is surrounded by wooden tables, wooden stools and containers,
which are used to decorate various retail stores and restaurants.
Various events are held here from time to time. On weekends,
there are special markets, street performers, etc. You can enjoy free wifi.
The use of second-hand containers is in line with the local historical characteristics.
Starting from a single element-waste and second-hand containers,
we are trying to find a modular, integrated, and quick-implement temporary
construction method through a variety of ways, so that this obsolete behemoth
can play a better role through some transformation and utilization. Great potential value.
