The first shopping mall in Italy, Cavezzo 5.9 ShopBox is located in the northern Italian city of Emilia (Emilia),

designed by Phoenix company, and BOX4IT provides box reconstruction.

The project was originally used for reconstruction after the earthquake in 2012.

Later, its unique shape attracted investment from many tenants and gradually became a shopping mall.

In the Italian city of Modena, thousands of containers were abandoned.

A large number of abandoned second-hand containers happen to meet the needs of waterproof,

wind-resistant, and robust housing in areas with frequent hurricane disasters.

The shopping center is made up of 34 second-hand 40-foot boxes,

which provides a huge outdoor public area while providing shops.

The project was sponsored by the local women's association and refurbished in 2013,

and it was also moved to the city of Bologna for continued commercial use.

Due to the integrated characteristics of the container structure,

it is more convenient to use in disaster relief buildings than other types of structures,

and it can be directly used in disaster areas by means of "prefabrication-delivery".

At the same time, the robustness of the structure allows the container emergency housing to

not only solve the frequent reconstruction problems after disasters,

but also to be occupied by local residents for a long time,

which solves the problem of local housing shortage.
