The world's largest container ship goes on sea trials
This morning (January 9), the world's largest container ship, named "Oriental Valencia", successfully left the waters of the Nantong section of the Yangtze River for a trial voyage in relevant waters. The ship is the fourth ship of the same series independently developed, designed and built by a shipbuilding company in Nantong, Jiangsu. It is also the first world's largest container ship to be completed in my country in 2024.

The ship has a total length of 399.99 meters, a molded width of 61.3 meters, and a molded depth of 33.2 meters. The maximum cargo capacity is 24,188 standard containers. When fully loaded, it can reach the height of a 22-story ordinary residential building. It integrates today's cutting-edge ship construction technologies, and many indicators have reached the world's leading level. .
In order to facilitate the smooth sea trial of the ship, the Nantong Immigration Inspection Station arranged a special service team to board the ship and ensure "zero waiting" and "zero delay" for the ship's departure from the port through "one-stop" services at the window and simultaneous hull inspections.
