The service life of modular container house construction can be viewed from several aspects. One is the type of container house, and the other is the raw material of the container house.

The specific service life depends on the type of container house:
① Customized container houses: basically derived from modified shipping containers. Refer to the service life of shipping containers. Conventional shipping containers are used at sea for a long time under normal use, high salinity and alkali, and strong corrosion. Generally speaking, the scrappage period is approximately 10 to 12 years. But in fact, even if the scrappage period is exceeded, the service life of the container can still be extended with proper maintenance and updated equipment. Nowadays, many shipping companies have increased the decommissioning period of shipping containers to 15 years. After the container is decommissioned, it can undergo secondary transformation and reuse, conduct inspection and maintenance, and can also be reused. It is possible to reuse a refurbished shipping container for about 15 years with proper maintenance. Taken together, if new shipping container materials are inspected and maintained regularly, they can be used for 25 to 30 years.
If distinguished by material, the service life depends on the main frame steel. Divided into hot-dip galvanized and cold-dip galvanized materials. For most container houses on the market, owners do not have high requirements for their service life, and cost is the most important factor. Therefore, most use cold-dip galvanizing as the main material. The service life of cold-dip galvanized materials is generally 25 years, and the service life of hot-dip galvanized materials is about 50 years. Therefore, according to different service life requirements, appropriate main materials can be selected accordingly.
For modular container houses with higher grade requirements, it is generally recommended to use hot-dip galvanized pipes to match other material grades. For example, building modular mobile space capsules, wandering cabins, building creative accommodation cabins, etc.
② Prefab container house: The use scenario of prefab container house itself is based on the premise of meeting the basic accommodation and office functions. It is widely used and low cost is its main feature. Most of them appear in temporary housing for construction site workers, temporary project departments, scientific research project departments, temporary headquarters, etc. The use time is not required to be very long. The basic assembly relies on male and female plugging and bolt tightening. The designed service life is basically about 5 to 8 years.
③Big Wave Container House: The usage scenario is similar to that of prefabricated container houses. The main difference in structure is that the main frame used in Big Wave Container House is mostly made by hand. The beams and keel materials are basically made of galvanized steel. , but the wall panels are different. Most of the wall panels of prefabricated houses are made of male and female plug-in sandwich panels; most large wave container houses are made of corrugated sandwich panels commonly known as "big wave sandwich panels", which are spot welded and glued. Their waterproof design mainly relies on Glue quality. The service life is basically about 7 to 10 years. If you want it to last longer, you can choose corrugated sandwich panels with thicker skin. And do regular maintenance and repairs.
It can be seen from this that how many years can a customized container house be lived in? Do you have your own answer in mind?
